Kurt R. Brown is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, and has lived in California for the majority of his life, apart from 3 months in Barcelona and 3.5 months in Hawaii. After High School, he moved to Pasadena to go to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, then to Santa Cruz for community college and to be near his grandfather, then to San Francisco, where he attended SFSU and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting. He lived in San Francisco for 10 years and then traveled for the majority of 2006 before moving to Los Angeles, where he currently resides.

Kurt has been interested in photography and art since he was a young child, and grew up using an old film camera that his Dad gave him. Kurt composed each shot carefully, because he knew the film and developing was expensive. Because of this, he rarely included people in his shots because "they moved too much." Still-life was his main subject because it was just that: still. Now, with the advent of high-quality digital cameras, he is able to print and edit only the photos he wants, and there is no film to worry about. Because of this, Kurt has taken a real liking to photographing people, with an emphasis on artistic and physique portraiture. However, he still enjoys other types of photography as well.

KurtRBrown.com | Kurt Brown's Studio is an online showcase of Kurt Brown's photography and art. His work has been published internationally in many books, magazines, calendars, greeting cards, posters, billboards, etc. and has been used for multiple TV shows, movies, and advertizing.

Kurt typically prefers to shoot outdoors, utilizing natural light for the majority of his photography. (Special arrangements can be made for indoor photo studio shoots, and are based on studio availability. Additional charges may apply. See "rates" page for more information.)
